ROAD MBS PLAY PONCA CITY CHAMPS IN WEEK ENDDilera to Make Stand Here Friday, Saturday Nights And Sunday Afternoon.Pampa baseball fans got a sample of the baseball In store for them tlie next two weeks at Road Runner park Monday night, It will be worth while to brave the cool evenings to see the type of baseball to be presented at Pampa’s lighted park until the end of the season.On Friday and Saturay nights and Sunday afternoon, the Road Runners will meet the Ponca City Oilers, winners of the last half of the Western association. Those games will be the forerunners of a two-game series between the Road Runners and the House of David team which will be here the nights of September 19 and 20,The baseball season will close with the Fort Worth Cats, Texas league team, here for night games September 21 and 23'and an afternoon game September, 23.The Western association this year was one of the strangest leagues in the southwest. The brand of ball played was on a par iyith that in the Texas league and; other similar classes of baseball- throughout the country. Ponca City has a strong team, made up of former stars with a sprinkling of -youngsters.The Oilers boast' a 16-year-old third baseman who; has been the sensation of the''league this year.
