Postelwaite Dominates Moto-CrossNELSONVILLE - Thirteen-year-oid Robbie Postelwaite of Parkersburg, W Va. took home three trophies to lead the field as the Athens County Cycle Park continued its moto-cross racing program Sunday.The racing day started out under cloudy skies and coolhumid weather which helped to hold the dust down, but before the second set of rnotos it rained enough to make conditions treacherous, proving to be a great equalizer between the faster dry track machines and the riders accustomed to the wet conditions.The field of 88 battled for 85 trophies and five cash awards with Postelwaite coming out on top in the mini-class and grabbing a second in the junior and a fourth-place finish in the 100 Joey Schoonover won a second overall with two seconds in the mini while Jim Boone, anotherParkersburg trophy-snatcher, won the junior class with a first and a second.Dave Graham of Belpre won both 100 motos followed by Mike Grubb of Athens and Mike Blackford of The Plains who had moto seconds.“Iron Man Dan” Willis won both 125 races, pursued closely bv Jerry Cunningham who had to settle for a pair of seconds.The most hotly contested motos of the day came in the 200 class with Mike Frazee winning both over fellow Chauncey rider Terry Shields. Dirk Walton and Mike Treadway had a good duel going, also. Walton had the lead for overall honors when a broken throttle killed his Bull going into the last lap Treadway won both races, followed by Rod Blackford.Steve Ramsay won the first bpen moto. after Larry Savage ^topped running several hundred yards from the finish Savage came back to win second, but Ramsay was tops overall, followed by Billy Small from Columbus.
