Delta Whips- • *Devils In 20-14 BattleSPRING VILLE — Springvflle’sRed Devils and Delta's Rabbits did all their scoring in a wild first half, with the Delta eleven coming out on top, 20-14, here Friday afternoon.Delta scored first when Jerry Bennett fumbled as he crossed the goal line and Dick Talbott^ fell on ^ the ball for the touchdown. Spring-ville then scored on a 25-yard pass from Ted Murray to Grant Roy-lanee. Paul Cherrington ran _ forthe extra point to give the Red Devils a 7-6 lead.Bennett ran 10 yards for a touchdown and Scott Gollister ran for the extra point to give Delta a 13-7 lead at the end of the first quarter.Jan Felix plowed four yards through the center of the line, for the second Springville touchdown and when Grant Palfreyman ran for the extra point, the Devils bounced back in front, 14-1-3.Jerry Huff scored from two yards out for Delta’s final touchdown and Lonnie Hales ran for the extra point.Felix looked good on offense for the Red Devils until he was forced to leave the game with a broken hand. Mike Bartholomew, the Devils* center linebacker, also played good ball in the forward wall.Dick Talbott’s punting was outstanding for the Delta eleven.
