Maxwell, a star guard from Swartbmore. He is aix feet two inches in height andweighs 260 pounds. Manager Stewart received a telegram Tuesday morning from Ooach Wightman, who is now at Chicago, saying that he had signed tbs new guard. Maxwell is an ali-rouud athlete, and can sprint fifty jards in five and two-fifths seconds. He is nowin training for the Irish-American meet at New York. In the All-American team of 1205 he wa- elected to ailt;position as guard. Maxwell will reach here next Saturday and take charge of the team until Coach Wight- * man arrives, which will probably be 1 some time next Tuesday.
