Quakers winat River ViewWARSAW — New Philadelphia claimed the Division II title in the River View Invitational cross country meet here Saturday.The Quakers totaled 57 points compared with 78 for runnerup Coshocton and 79 for third-place Perry. Host River View was fourth in the eight-team field with 100.Brad Whitis led New Philadelphia with a third-place finish in16:30. Matt Whitis was seventh (16:40), Todd Evans eighth (16:42), Scott Horrisberger 18th (17:21) and Dave Glass 21st (17:30).The top time went to Coshocton’s Troy Jones in 16:05. PeteMelchoir of Perry was secind in16:15.Fairfield Union won the Division I race, while Coshocton nipped River View 60-62 for the girls’ team crown.New Philadelphia won the junior varsity race with 27 points to runnerup River View’s 65.In the girls’ open run, Amy Fenton of New Philadelphia hadthp ton timp of 20:02.
