Gate City Takes 33-6Win Over St. CharlesBy JACK HELMSCATE CJTY, Va. ~ Gate City's potent Blue Devils ran roughshod over visiting St. Charles here Fri-day night as Coach Harry Frye's outfit scored a 33*6 Lonesome Pine Conference victory before a-capacity crowd.The score could have been much A-orse, hut Frye used ^ his first team for only six plays in the entire second half. The first stringers saw no defensive action whatever in the second half of play.Gate'City took the opening kick-3ff and marched 57 yards fit six days for its first I ally. Fullback Bllioll Smith plunged over ffom hrce yards out.The highlight of the drive was i 26-yard pass play from quarterback George Jennings to end Fames McConnell.Jennings, Gale City’s answer lo fabn Uni las, has al tempted nine jasscs in two outings and has competed seven for 104 yards.
