Grover Cleveland Alexander, now pitching with the House of David team at Benton Harbor, Mich., refuses to grow long hair and whiskers. Alexander is said to have cut out his play-boy antics and is ready and eager for another try in big league baseball.Seven former Indiana university athletes take up coaching duties for the first time this fall. Eddie Hughes, of Gary, football player, is assistant coach at Huntington hiigh. Ward Baker, grid and wrestling star, of Mishawaka, is added to the staff of Bloomington high school. Chuck Bennett, of LintorTJ* honored on a few all-American selections, goes to La-Porte as head football coach. Lefty Veller, of the same school is mentor of basket ball and baseball. John Magnabosco, Indiana’s outstanding forward passer a few’ years ago, goes back home as head coach and director of all athletics at Clinton. Charles Henry, of Seymour, goes to Crawfordsville as football and basket ball coach. Ben Miller, of Waldron, is assisting Pete Phillips as basket ball coach at Bloomington high.
