met with on one day. ^ .....Ths Ness.—The season now approaches a termination, i the 14th being close at hand. For 3ome time lately the river ! was too low to afford sport to ths salmon angler, but trout j were taken in abundance. The late rain and wind, however, i had the effect of increasing the volume of water, and better j sport has since been obtained. On tha upper pools Sir John | Carnac and party caught eleven on Monday. The Ness i Castle party on their water have not been quite 30 fortunate, j Mr. D.'A. Nicol, a member of the Ness Angling Club, was j so fortunate as to catch the If Big Fish” of shis season. ; It weighed upwards of 20 lbs.
