Kidieff time will be atThe Cardinals have 14 lettermenoverall with 10 of ‘em listed asstarters tonight by Coach Ray Isaacs who is beginning his third term at the Cardinal relgna.The Cardinals tied with two oth ers for the District 0-B crown last year, Robert Lee and Bronte. Robert Lee won the right to represent the district in the bi-district play via a coin-flipping ceremony.In Isaacs’ first year at Herm-leigh in 1954. the Cardinals walked off with both the district and regional crowns, defeating the always tough Rochester Steers in the re^onal finals, 27-26.Many of the boys who figured heavily in the Cards’ penna'nt-win-ning year in ‘84 will be seen in action tonight. ,Spear • heading the Cardinal attack will be three 180-pound backs, Billy Mac Davidson, Robbie Robinson and Morris Light. All are three-year lettermen bidding for their fourth numeral award.Rounding out the Cardinal back-field will be Donald Ray McHaney, a freshman quarterback. Davidson and Light will man the halfback positions with Robinson to start at fullback. McHaney is the lone non-letterman on the starting11.Hermlelgh’s starting iine will be composed of Clyde Wilcox, 162, senior, and Jimmy Roemisch, 155, sophomore, at ends; Donald Joe May, 200, junior, and Don Vineyard, 195, junior, at tackles; Dub Etheredge, 164, junior, and Jerry Gannaway, iflfl, senior, at guards; T. J. Hillis, 150, senior at center.The other three returning lettermen are guard Eddie McHaney, end Donald Calvert and tackle Tom Etheredge. All three of these fellows are defensive .starters.The Hermleigh squad consists of 41 boys, 10 of whom are seniors.Willie Bigham, ex - Midwestern gridder, is the Cardinal assistant.
