ALL STARS WILL ENGAGE HOUSE OF DAVID TOMORROWCOLLECTION OF LEADING LOCAL STARS PLAY INVADERS AT TAYLOR PARKSelecting the leading baseball players of the various Freeport team 1 to compete against the House of j David team at Taylor park, starting . at 3 o'clock tomorrow,; afternoon, Manager Carl Jurgensntcioiv'togeth- . er,wtth master minds of the various other clubs, expect to give the longhaired and be-whisked chaps one of the tightest battles they have ever had in this city. This will be the , original House of David team, the best in the business, and fans in- t terested in seeing a flashy bunch of J artists performing on the diamond j in what may be the final game of the current season should turn out for the Saturday game.To date this season this team has won 107 out of 124 games, which indicates they have.one of the strongest traveling ball clubs in the country. Their roster includes many of the old time House of David players, with a few of the younger set. They are the originators of the celebrated “pepper game” and will give an exhibition of this sort of amusement during the battle Saturday. Practically every member of the visiting team has enjoyed league experience. Old Doc Tally has been with the club 17 years and still a bio to get in there and pitch and is enjoying one of the best seasons of his career. Hutson, outfielder, played in the Southern Association where he hit for a ,370 average. In Tucker the visitors will have one of the best fist sackers in the game today while Wykoff, who formerly played with the Cincinnati Reds, it .382 for the Davidites last year,Frceporlers StrongThe Freeport lineup will be the strongest that has been collected in this city for some seasons. There are players from all of the loading clubs of Freeport and they promise to give a good account of themselves. The roster includes Les Hill, hard hitting center fielder; Russ Diss-meier, sensational shortstop; Jimmy Dame and Johnny Jurgensmeier, well known throwers. Others are Jim Krueger, W. Loewe, Lyle Griddle, W. Gage, D. Kehoe, C. Ellis, B. Popp. Tex Sherwin, F. Monroe, Reed Pearson, C. Butler, B. Hutton.The game will be called promptly at 3 o’clock. Besides the “pepper game the visitors will present their “Singing Caruso” who will entertain the gathering.
