BLACK SOX STOPS HOUSE OF DAVIDSmash Matt Ramsey’s De*livery for 11 Hits to Win 8 to 1Three thousand fans packed th* Chester Colored Elks Ball Park to an overflow under the floodlights last night as. Jack Farrell’s Baltimore Black Sox belted Matt Ramsey for eleven solid hits to win pulled up against the famed House of David nine, 8 to 1. •It was the first night, game of the year for the fans in this city and they turned out in droves, - Lack of adequate seating capacity- caused a number of fans to pass up the gam* after they arrived at the crowded ball park and many more left after seeing the line walling for admission.The game itself was too one-sided to be exciting, but it was replete with fielding thrills on both sides. Most ol the heavy hitting-was done bv th* home club, as the Davids could do little with the submarine : expert. Hayes.Big Paul Dixon started the scoring in the second inning when he lambasted one of Ramsey’s shoots to th* far. corner of left-center field and breezed around the bases before th* ball was retrieved. Tom Dixon and Jackson followed: with singles, but Dixon was cut off at third when Forman rifled a toss to Heffner on Jackson's clout. After Johnson was out, Hughes slapped a single to center and Jackson scored, but Hughes was out trying for a double.From then on it was all Baltimore. House of David picked up one run in the fourth when the hard hittlna Ragnow hit the wall in left for a double, sending Forman across th* platter. That was the extent of their scoring,Jimmy Woods at first base thrilled the fans with his sensational • fielding and clowning. Red Hoffner, former-Felton player, continued to display his great infield work.
