Burt Gillette Athletic Complex.In the boys meet, Nash Central, buoyed by a quartet of top-10 finishes, edged Northern Nash with a team score of 42. Despite producing the race winner in sophomore Stephen Whitehead and third-place junior Christian Tippette, the Knights finished second with a total of 47. They were followed by Rocky Mount (62), Hunt (84), Southern Nash (112) andFike (172).On the girls side, Rocky Mount pocketed three top-10 results to easily seize the team victory with 34 points. Nash Central followed in second with 60, with Fike(73), Hunt (92), Northern Nash (102) and Southern Nash (118) rounding out the league’s six teams.To no surprise, the Lady Warriors did produce the individual winner, as heralded sophomore Lauren West turned in a 63-second win over Rocky Mount sophomore Mary McCall Leland.NOT SATISFIEDWest’s winning time of 21 minutes, 5 seconds easily outdistanced the field, including the sixth-place finish of Nash Central’s Michaela Williams, the 2012 Big East queen.
