Kickoff in the first start for both teams is set for 7:30.Most rating systems have established the Braves as favorites, but the Braves followers recall last year's close game at Ellisville. Many believe the Braves will go undefeated in 1974 and the Tigers need thevictory to keep the Jones County Trophy from going to Ellisville permanently.At the controls for the Braves will be senior quarterback Bobby Robbins who was named the second-best back in the DeSoto Conference a year ago. At the reins for the Tigers, playing in his last varsity year, will be senior Danny Rasberry, who’s ability and poise have earned him the starting job.Both clubs have an excellent crop of running backs. Eddie Jones and Roland Clayton will open for the Braves. The Tigerswill go with Donnie Sumrall al fullback and Billy Moffett at (TB).Ace of Coach Sonny Farrar's Braves ground forces is 5-9, 105-pound tailback Eddie Jones, who led the DeSoto Conferencein rushing last year. Jones gets able support from fullback Roland Clayton and wingback Fred Neely.Senior, split end John Barnes heads the excellent crop of Brave receivers. Junior Greg Beech will open at tight end for the Braves.Anchoring the offensive interior line will be junior tackleCarroll Wade, junior guard LazSanford, junior center RandyMartin, senior guard ReggieBenson and senior tackleSammy Crosby.Senior Jerry Plummer willstart at split end for the Tiger;.
