Alexander Again Saves David Nine From Defeat jCOUNCIL BLUFFS. Ia. (UP). For the second time in two days Grover Cleveland Alexander, essayed the role of relief pitcher and succeeded in sending: his House of David team into the finals for the Southwesterm Iowa baseball championship here Sunday. The team meets the winner of Monday’s Cuban Giant-Hampton, la., game ! for first money next Sunday.The bearded David’s were lead- j ing 3 to 1 when their hurler began weakening in the eighth and Alex took his place. A single by Wilson scored one runner, but Wilson was caught trying to stretch the hit into a double and Alexander set the Sioux City stock yards sluggers down in one, two, three order in the ninth.
