DILLON OFF TODAYHoosier Middleweight Schedules Two Twenty Round Mulches During This Month.Indianapolis, Sept. 2—Jack Dillon, Indiana middleweight chimpion, is going west today and he is going into that section of the country to do battle with some of the promising candidates in his class. Jack says that the Pacific slope is the only place where real battles are staged and that he feels that he is in condition to appear before the fans who have seen nothing but lightweight battles for several years past.San Francisco is not the goa 1 of the Hoosier Bearcat. He is headed straight for Sacramento, where he is booked to meet Frank Mantell in a twenty round bout on Sept. 17. Thi9 will not be the first time the two boys have fought, for they met in a twelve round bout in Boston, April 4, 1911.From the Sacramento bout Dillon will move bis camp to Salt Lake City, where be is scheduled to meet Kid George in a twenty round bout on Sept. 23. The latter boxer is little known in the east, but it is said that he has made quite a reputation for himself in the far west.Dillon says that he is in good shape for his twenty round go with Mantell and has little fear of the outcome. His accident of a few weeks ago, when his automobile took the ditch and bruised him, has effected him but little and be asserts that he is ready now for the going. It would seem that he is confidant o f his ability by the scheduling of two lengthy battles within a week. It always was Dillon’s policy, however, to stage as many battles as possible in as short a time as possible. In reality he b8S little to fear in either boxer. He has met Mantell and holds the decision over him in a twelve round bout at Boston in 1911. George is a newcomer and if the Mantell bout turns out as Dillon expects he sees no difficulty in taking on the youngster a week later.According to Jack it is his intention to stay on the coast for some time. The recent desire of coast fans to see the heavier boxers in action has had much to do with his decision and he expects . to get in some good licks before he returns. He will be accompanied by bis brother Tommy Dillon, and his trainer Bob Stolkin. They depart at noon today for Sacramento, Cal.
