Any or.e of the other six are capable of finishing behind the MaroonsWithout Dowling, this would be a hell of a conference race. one coach joked.Valley returns 19 starters from last season, Des Moines Hoover has nine back, and East, North and Roosevelt each have seven returning. Des Moines Tech probably bas the speediest backfirld ever in the conference.Dowling Coach Jim Williams Inst his entire defensive unit from last year's S-l team, as well as all running backs. Also gone are ail stale offensive linemen Don Godfroy and Chuck Goodrich.Williams, in his Uth year a*.
