Danbury Trojans To Play Brooklyn DodgersProfessional Football Season to Open at New Lee Stadium. Danbury, on Wednesday Night, Sept* 9, Under Great Food Lights- Eddie Vonlder-stine, Former Brewster High Football Star to Play Third Season with Trojans.The Danbury Trojans launch their 1936 football campaign next Wednesday night at the rebuilt Lee Stadium when the Brooklyn Dodgers of the National Football League invade the Hat City with a team on which eight former All-Americans are enrolled.Strengthened in nearly every department, the Trojans promise to give their followers the finest brand or football ever flashed at Lee field, and have booked three pro league clubs for exhibition games early in the season- The Brooklyn club, which finished in second place in the Eastern division last season, has also been strengthened, and on paper is regarded as one of the most promising combinations in the National loop.Eddie Vonlderstine. fleet ‘ footed Brewster boy, who suffered a leg injury during scrimmage, is expected to return in time for the Dodger tilt. Ed’s work against the New York Giants last year will be recalled by fans who saw the game. His defensive play was one of the features of that hard fought fray.Coach Jock Thompson of the Hatters will have his team decked out in their new uniforms, blue pants with white stripe, red Jerseys, and red, white and blue helmets. Always sartorially resplendent, the Trojans will be positively gorgeous looking in their nifty new regalia. Lee Stadium has been altered to such an extent that it will be hardly recognizable to the6.000 fans expetced to attend the dedicatory game next Wednesday night at 8:45. A new grandstand seating3.000 has been constructed along with up to date rest rooms. The playing field is now a smooth, grassy area free from humps and hollows-Eighty thousand watts of electric light will illuminate the park, turning night virtually into day. Mayor Adam Roth will officiate at the dedication ceremonies.
