DAVIDS DEFEAT M HOLSUM, 4-2; CROWD LARGEBearded Club Takes Well Played Bat lie Before Huge CrowdBeBefore the largest local baseball crowd of the season. Grover Cleveland Alexander and his bearded House of David nine took a 4-2'decision from the Hoisum nine of the Utah State league Sunday morning at Community park.Old Alex hurled the first inning for the visiting club. Wilbur, first man up, flied out to right. Facer hit a hot grounder to Tucker at first, who made a great stab at the boll to knock it down and make the putout Marsh flied out to Wykoff at third.Alexander’s peculiar delivery* the lack of the usual windup, and the snap throw, still produced plenty of speed, and he seemed to be able to put the ball where he wanted it.Hunter took up the hurling duties for the visitors in the second frame, and allowed only six hits during the remainder of the game He was practically invincible until the ninth, when a single by Facer, Marsh’s.double and Cowan's single produced the two Hoisum runs.Hunter also played a ..major part in the David’s offensive. In the third he poled out a triple and came home on Hutson’s single. In the fifth he put Hill on third with a sacrifice, after the latter had doubled to bring At-weU home for the second David run. In the seventh, Hill opened the inning by singling. Hunter sacrificed birr, to second and Hutson brought him home with a double. Hutson went to third on Lawrence's single and came home when Ping Nyberg held the ball just a little too long.Lee Johnson made the most sensa tionnl play of the game. In the third Lawrence attempted to sacrifice Hutson, who had singled to bring in Hunter,' to second. The bunt was a little pop fly near the first base line. Johnson made cv tremendous lunge afier the ball with his extremely long arms, caught it, and while still in the air made a snap throw to first for a double play. He was off balance and fell principally on his chin. He was out” completely for a short time, but took the mound and got by nicely. The score:(Ruamho:thileaye;da.Mnnnrntu, 5 2 2 \ FftCCr, lb,,.. 4 113 0Tucker., lb...
