Bowser, Kittanning contractor, receiver a S205,5(il contract for hauling the slag and paid a commission of five cents a ton to the Duquesne Slag Products Company for helping to obtain the contract. This alleged payment to the slag company was denied'by Bowser, Ziefel. Roy Walters, private secretary to the late County Commissioner Joseph G. Armstrong, Howard B. Allen, former county superintendent of the bureau of motor vehicles; James E. Rouiiey, clerk in the commissioners’ office; E, M. Kcnna, former road commissioner; C. C. Benz, employe of the county pur-j chasing department; C. U. Doherty,! a county accountant and John J, Gal-j lagher, assistant county purchasing j agent, were indicted on charges of; conspiracy to cheat and defraud in connection with diversion of county gasoline to private use. .Those indicted for illegally procuring tax receipts were: Howard Neely, Republican chairman of the fourth ward, David Roberts, assistant superintendent of county buildings, Gus Gi'eenlee, Clarence Webster, James Gross, Walter Rainey, Ina Wayne, Edward Sullivan, A.- A. Donofrio and M. Riei.
