C. League.Although few fans here have had the chance to see the Grays in action, practically all have heard of ^ this famous team. For years the Grays have been recognized as the outstanding colored aggregation in the country and for the past three seasons they have won the undisputed title championship among the man fast colored teams all over the country.The Grays will come to Curwens-ville with a record of winning CO out of their last 66 games and numbered among their victims are such teams as Altoona Works, Baltimors Black Sox, Cuban Giants, Bacharach Giants. Erie, Jamestown, Crawfords, New Castle, Akron, and House of David.Featuring their lineup is Vic Harris, left fielder, the Babe Ruth of colored players and considered by most critics as the best colored player in the country. In addition their roster includes, Lefty Williams, star hurler who has been with the club for 18 years, McCallister, J. Williams, Binder, Brown, Morney, Evans, Gaston. Strong. Butt, Solomn, and Washington.The C. C. All-Stars will be composed of Roan of Philipaburg, Webb, Bishop, Caskey, Demchok, and Kost of Houtzdale, Bailey, Sughrue. Mel-lott. and Haversack of Clearfield, and Cruikshank, Mock, Fryer, Hudson, and Kelly of Curwensville. Recently this team played the Cuban Giants and put up a fine game, losing out by a small score in the late innings. However, \he Grays are rated a much better team than, the Giants and undoubtedly will mal^e it much, tougher for the locals.
