Yesterday they bat*. tied Charles City ut Bancroft before a celebration and today they go to Humboldt to play before another big crowd. Their opponents hud not been announced yesterday* Friday the team will play the Tennessee Uats .at Leach Field here but Saturday they will go to Lakota to. play at a celebration. Next Sunday’s game at Arnolds Park will b* with LeMars and Monday and Tuesday they go * to Graettingcr and , Marathon, respectIvely, to play before crowds ■ at celebrations.President T. M, Jones is also booking some minor league teams for this month and he bus already signed contracts to piny the TH* State League All Stars of Moline, Illinois on Saturday and Sunday, September 11 and 12. The Saturday game will be played here and thfe* Sunday game at Arnolds Park. The Waterloo club of the Mississippi Valley league club will also be brought here, according to present plans,, and Archie Kelsey, former Spencer hurler, will pitch against the locals.Played only Four iinmtm Only four games were played by the Spencer club during the past week, due to the fact that the All Nations fulled to show up for their two-day schedule here Frfdny and Saturday. Not a ‘.word was heard from the club after booking them and it is supposed they broke up ■ before reaching the Spencer date. However, the local management received no cancellation of the games and a good sized crowd was on hand at Leneh Field last Friday, only to be disappointed^Out of the four gamCs-played, the Ideals' won three, defeating the Marcus Black Sox twice and winning from Cherokee at Arnolds Park Sunday by the top-heavy Score of 11 to 4.
