Fede both ol FrebornMr, and Mrs. Jack Hill of Waterloo, la., arrived in the city Tm^day for a few days’ visit with Mrs. Hill's parents. Jack, who was playing with tho Waterloo club this season had the misfortune to break one of his legs July 8 and lie is still on crutchesMr. and Mrs. Weringer and Mr. and Mrs. Otto Thorns came up from Iowa Falls, la., last Thursday to visit with the family of He rman Thoms, north of the city. They returned Tuesday night, and expressed themselves as greatly surprised at the. wonderful crop conditions in Freeborn county.
