The locals have no excuse to offer for drop-i | ping the contest as the last three runs in the tenth, were made after the side should have been retired.Fletcher, who did twirling for the locals for eight innings pitched a goodgame, and held the heavy hitting cnl-e ored team down. His support was not 3 of the best however. Williams was n sent in to finish the game and did well.The Plutos secured their first run in y | the first inning and increased their lead to two in the third. In the fifth the locals were able to make one run and in the ninth Bob Wicker who came to bat for Kyle, started a batting bee by a clean two base hit. Bringhans then scored Wicker with a pretty bingle, which tied the score, k Whan the colored team came to bat Williams struck out the first two up in d rapid succession and would have had d the other man, thus retiring the side had not Lemon muffed the ball. At that the man should have been retired 1] | at first, but Bringhans fiailed to get the throw. Then Kramer failed to get a bad hop and with some heavy hitting that followed, the darkies sinched the game. The Champs were unable to do any thing with the colored boys in their half of the contest and the game ended with the score five to two.The locals went to Trinity Springs °*today to play another game with the ^Pluto team. w____________________e*wicoiti01W
