FREE FLIGHT CHAMP — Using no lines or radio as control, this 38-ounce model aircraft won a ‘a‘l trophy in its free flight class at recent American Model Association mideast championships. ; Owner Nick Soldi, left, of 3410 Malibu a^e NW, Jackson township, plans to enter it in the mid' ;st west contest soon at Bong naval air station, north of Chicago. Ken Jacobs of 7690 Daytona st at N\V. plane retriever, holds the stopwatch used to time engine runs on flights. To earn maximum sl contest points Boldi’s powerful .040 engine is flooded by a timer device after climbing for not more than seven seconds. Then the craft must glide and land safely in not more than three min- ’P1 utes (two minutes in windy conditions).
