44 Are On 1971Football Squad At Wyoming HighI With 44 members on the- 1971 football squad at Wyoming Community j high school, Coach Gary Johnson cx-, pressed the opinion yesterday that the team’s record for the season will depend pretty much on how well they are able to play defense.That was one of the most troublesome spots last season and figures to be again this year. The offense is be-; ginning to come along well, Coach j Johnson thinks, and should not be «too much of a problem, barring injuries.However, he still has several important gaps to fill, at strong sica. guard, flanker back, and spiit end, I as wrell as some other less trouble-I some spot problem* before he will be ready for the first game against Toulon here Friday, September 17.He has ten lettermen back from last year’s squad. Seniors returning are Mike Conlin, tackle; Rick De-I Wolfe, fullback; Ray Gillam, tackle; Barry Harmon, guard; Rich Hunt, fullback; Lee Mercer, quarterback; Randy Newton, end; and Wade Wilkinson, tackle.
