Another first for Indiana in the fact that four other Hoosier skaters have also qualified for the coveted honors of skating in the European event.Charlotte will not only represent Anderson In the world event, but will compete as one of the 11 contestants who will represent the United States In the highly - contested events,She also is the only skater in the American group that will compete in two events In Spain.In climbing to the top, Charlotte entered tour Senior events in the Slate Meet at Muncle In June and won first place awards in every event. Winning first place 3n just one event would quality her to compete in the Nationals In Long Beach, Calif., but she went all the way.In Long Beach, she participated in oil four of Ihc events that she qualified for, winning three first place awards and one second place award. She won first place in tJ« Nationals in the Senior Mixed Pairs, Senior Dance and Senior Fours, and placed second In the Senior Ladies Pairs. Senior Pairs and Fours are not recognized In World Championships competition, so Charlotte will compete in the other two events,The Nationals were hold July 11 through 16, which qualified her to appear before a panel of 13 judges for World Champkm-lip trials.The trials were heldshipUse Sunday in Leviltown, NewYork, and she was chosen hands down to compete in Spain soon.All skaters who qualified for the Nationals had to place first or second In their respective events In the si ale meets.
