Rain In Sixth Halts Contest With WhiskersHouse Of David Wins, 4-3; Chairs Mustering Power As Game Is Called Last NightPounding in three run* in the first inning and another in the second, Earl “Oil” Smith and his whiskery House of Davids defeated the Sheboygan Chairmakers 4 to 3 under the visiting team’s floodlights up at the city ball park last night.Fifteen hundred fans packed the stands to see the battle to witness the House of David's famous pepper and donkey games which produced plenty of uproarious laughter and merriment, despite the fact that rain in the sixth inning cut short the regular contest Just as the Chairmakers had scored two runs and were getting into shape for some real business with their bats. The visitors’ three runs in the first came in on three hits, a walk, and a fielder’s choice, and the Chair's run in the second frame was brought in on Cinealis crack into left field, by Beyers after his two-bagger.Then in the sixth inning the Sheboygan team rushed to their feet, and Adlam and Norris scored. By that time the rain was coming down hard, and something happened to the floodlights which went out and left the field in total darkness. After a wait of ten or fifteen minutes, the rain slowed Up, and it was announced that the game would be called because of the threatening weather and that the donkey game would be put on .Immediately.babe injures fingerBabe Didrikson, famous woman athlete, was unable to take the mound last night, as she injured one of her fingers in a game at Milwaukee the night before. Her finger was in splints, but she took a turn at bat, and did some base running for the other players. And what a donkey game that was. Fans had a great time watching Frankie Lindsay, Paul Beyers, and the others mount the “pesky cntters and try to get to first, and a tough time they did have. The game was played with a softball, and the donkeys showed that they had no use for the umpires, for every time they got near the “limps” they would take healthy kicks at them. The pepper game, put on In front of the grandstand at the end of the fifth frame, was extremely clever, and the players did almost a sleight of hand performance with the ball. Gloves as well as the ball flew through the air, and’fans had a hard time keeping track of the ball, so slippery did it seem in the hands of the- pepper game players. The game was splendid entertainment.HOUSE OF DAVIDABK H POAEWilliams, 2b ....... 3 1 1 1 1 I)Moulder, ss............ 2 1 0 1 2 1Boose, lb ............. 200700Traynor, 3b. ......... 3 1 z 0 2 1Smith, c. ..... 3 0 2 6 1 0Jacobs, cf. ........ 3 0 l l 0 lLucas, If. ............. 3 0 0 1 0 0Hunter, rf. ........, 2 0 0 1 Z 0Whitehill, p........... 1 0 0 0 1 0Dietrichsen ....... 1 1 1 0 0 0Total# ............. 33 4 7 17 8 3SHEBOYGANAB R H PO A ELindsay, 2b............ 4 0 2 0 2 0Quaslus, rf ......... 3 0 0 0 0 0Ttoesle”, lb............ 3 0 19 10Beyers, c.............. 3 114 10Harding If. .......... 2 0 1 1 0 0Norris, cf. ...... 3 10 110Cinealis, 8b ..... 3 0 2 1 0 0Adlam, ss ....... 3 1 1 1 4 0Nelesen, p. ...... 3 0 1 i 2 1Total# ........ 27 5 9 18 U 1House of Harld ....... 910 (100—4 7 #Sheboygau ............ 010 002—9 8 1Runs batted in—Moulder, Traynor 2,Smith, cinealis, Adlam Earned run#— How? of David 3, Sheboygan 1 Two-base hits—Williams.
