IN FINE SHAPE*nT' r‘,~^ jReports of Various Committees Heard. 1at Formal Opening of Club Housa Ait the 'formal opening of thr , Statesville Club House Monday even-Ic ing, brief talks were made by a num- 8 ber of the directors of the Golf De-'.j velopment Company, giving reports i of what the various committees are doing for the development of the ; property and for completion of the i organization. iMr. C. H. Turner, president of thecompany, announced that the annualdues for members had been set at $72, which includes full membership for both the club house and golf course; $30 a year is the fee for membership in the cluh house only.Announcement was also made that $10,000 more of stock in the Golf Development Company would be offered for sale and the committee appointed to secure this stock is composed of Messrs. Ben Cooper, Lonnie Mills. Hugh Mitchell, Augustus Deaton and Dr. W. C. Currept. The membership committee includes Messrs. Oscar Marvin, Fired Deaton and CowlesBristol.Everybody expressed themselves aswell pleased with the entire propertyof the Golf Development Company. The company owoe its own real estate and reports show that it is in fine financial condition, Those who werein a position to know stated that there was not a country club within a radius of 200 miles of Statesville that is as well Axed financially as the States*ville club.
