Notes from the Oil Fields.The officers of the Navajo Oil Company, which is operating in the Sunset district, have been advised that their drill is in the oil sand at a depth of about 500 feet, and with three feet of sand, and when the dispatch was sent there was about 40 feet of oil in the well. The strike is of more than ordinary note, as it is supposed to prove a stretch of territory about four miles in extent.The third well of the Fullerton Oil Company, now down GOO feet, is in oil.I A number of oil companies in Fresno county have entered into a contract with the Union Oil Company , whereby that company by running a special line into the territory will take all the oil produced, at a good figure, up to 1000 barrels a day.—Ventura Press.The Pacific Slope Oil Company has a well sunk 240 feet in the new western Los Angeles field and has struck oil seepage.Reports of the discovery of a new field 40 miles west of MoKitt.rick have been received. It is claimed that the territory shows indications of being very rich. About 150,000 acres are reported to have been located.Jim Jeffries, the pugilist, has invested in the McKittrick field, having secured, with others, a portion of section 24.The Westlake Oil Company expects soon to have oil flowing from 40 wells.The oil shipments from McKittrick for August so far amounts to 50 cars.The Parker Oil Company has declared 1 per cent, dividend, payable the 20th day of each month. The output is 5500 barrels a month.
