He described the game as a thrilling affair. The stands were jammed with Ians. Air. Mulroney had an excellent seat in the stadium. The Illinois University band put on a grand performance during the half. They formed a shamrock in the center of the field and played the Notre Dame victory song. They then formed a rose and played and sang rMy Wild Irish Rose.i1
