Hallowe’en I’artvGiven at SalemSixty Members Vml Kricnds AtEvent Given H\ Women’s(lubThe annual Halloween party of theSalem Woman’s Club was held at theirrooms Thursdaytended by 00 members and friends. At7 o'clock they began to arrive and atthe request of the committee the ideawas to see who could have the homeliest masks. Among the guests were S.W. Mitchell, editor of the Ft MadisonRevMadison who were the judges for theugliest masks worn by the men and women. Therethe judging was not very easy but itwras finally decided that Mrs. ChattieKester, had the ugliest costume for theDoa nfor the men. ——Numbers and fortunes were thendrawn for partners and dinner whichwas served cafeteria style. Then fol-lowred an address by S. W. Mitchell ofFt. MadisonMr. Mitchell with the assistance ofRev. Adams started with a little farce and after a few' humorous remarksused for his subject “Masks” and for about 25 minutes he held his audiencewith this very interesting subject andall felt amply repaid and grateful toRevpart in making this program so interesting. This was followed by a short,RevGarretson and Revand then a few Hallowe'en gamesamong which was a minature golf gam?using pumpkins and apples, also carrying pumpkins on tablespoon. The orizcs of the former were awarded toMrs. Mary Tyner and Will Simpkinsand of the latter to Mrs, Ruth Simpkins. The committee in charge haddecorated the rooms in true Hallowe'enstyle and the success of the eveningwas due to the following in charge:Mcsdanies, Bertha Gripper, MaudeWiddefield, Onida Doan, Anna Kendall,Millie Canmaek and Minerva Pennington.
