Wellman Rolls On UndefeatedThe Wellman Wildcats won their seventh gam*1 of the season Friday night in Wellman beating the Sterling City ! ag-les, 38 to 12.The game saw Wellman control the ball from the opening Kick-off. The W ildcats kicked off to the Eagles to start the game and Wellman held on downs forcing an Eagle punt.Wellman drove 65 yards on their first possession for a score with Itandall Redman going the last 30 yards around the right end. The try for two extra points failed.Wellman again scored in the first period with Redman again running the right side 37 yards for a TD The pass from Johnny Tubb to Gerald lie vers was good for two points leaving the score 14 to 0.In the second quarter Larry Don Chrestmai broke through the middle for 42 yards and another W ildcat score. The pass for two extra points again failed.Ster *ing City got on the scoreboard with two minutes left in the first half w hen they threw a screen pass up the Middleto David Currington for 17yardsand six points. The try for twoextra points was no good. The score remained Wellman 20, Sterling City 6.Wellma.i came back on a 40 yard pass and run play from Tubb to Bevers to set up the touchdown by Redman who ran right end for 10 yards and the score. The PAT was nogood.At half time the scoreboardread Wellman 26, Sterling City €.Sterling City kicked to Wellman to open the second half and the Wildcats moved the ball down field for another score when Chrestman went up the middle for 10 yards and a TD.The PAT was no good.The third quarter was allWellman's as the second team came in and scored when Junior Gutierrez crashed in from three yards out and boosted the W ildcat score to 38 to 6. The PAT again went w ide.The fourth quarter saw thetwo teams ’xittle back and forth until Sterling City got a good drive going. They m *ed to the Wellman 10. Rill Duncan passeder for two extra points.The entire first quarter was controlled by Whiteface as they ran 26 play s. On the other hand, Meadow only ran 7 plays in the same quarter but crossed the magic line twice.The second score of the quarter came with 2:47 remLnaing when Beasley scampered 21 yards for a TD. Lloyd Jordan carried over for twoextra points. The score stood Meadow 16, Whiteface 0.It was late in the second period before either team was able to score. Whiteface found pay dirt first with a one yard run by Dale Burris. The try for extra points was no golt;xl.Meadow bounced back three pLays later with a 41 yard run by Jordan for another touchdown.
