Saco FiremenVictoriousBenefit TiltThe Saco firemen defeatedthe Saco police, 19-11, Sundayafternoon in a benefit softballgame at the Saco Little LeagueField. After a 13-8 lead in the regularly scheduled seven innings of play, the opposing teams played two extra innings to give the fans and players alike more softball. The receipts of the game, near $75. went to the benefit of the Bernier family, recently victims of a serious fire.The tilt was the second battle between the two clubs, who earlier had played for the Jimmy Fund. This tilt was won by the police.! Arm and Paquette got credit I for the win, with Skip Ricker 'relieving him in the two extra jinnings played after the regulation seven. Heavy hitters for the j firefighters were Art Mclnnis jwith a five for five, along with Ken Pendleton and Ricker.With one win apiece, the teams are demanding a rubber game for the crown.
