New Paltz harriers drop pairNEW PALTZ New Paltz State made it five straight eross-country losses Wednesday, dropping a 22-32 decision to Siena and losing to Marist College, 20-37, in a tripledual meet here.Marist added a 26-30 thrashing of Siena to its win over New Paltz to complete the scoring in the three-way meet.Phil Cappio of Marist breezed toa first place finish with a time of 26:12 over the 5.2-mile course.Dave Kirkpatrick of Siena nipped teammate Tom Conroy at the finish line to take second piaee with a 27:15 effort.Jim Longo was the first New Paltz runner to cross the line, requiring 27:26 to complete the course for a fifth place finish.In the ireshman meet. New Paltz brought its record to 3-1 by beating Siena, 19-39, and Marist,25-31. Marist registered a 23-32win over the Siena harriers.
