Elite circuit under studyTORONTO (CP) — Lou Lefaive, chaiman of Hockey Canada, said Monday a proposal to operate an elite university hockey league in Canada next year is under study.He said the league would encourage top players to remain in the country instead of accepting scholarships to institutions in the United States and would act as a feeder system to strengthen the Canadian Olympic hockey program.
