LAMAR WINS FROM WEBB CITY, 14 TO 7Barton Countlans, Led by Bob Wooten, Score Touchdowns In 1 First and Second Periods.LAMAR, Mo., Oct. 22. — Lamar defeated Webb City in a Big Eight Conference football game here tonight, 14 to 7,Lamar took the opening kickoff and marched straight to a touchdown, with Halfback Bob Wooten amashlng over for the touchdown. Wooten added the extra point by placement.Then Lamar kicked off to Webb City and the Cardinals marched 68 yards to a touchdown with Halfback Oalon Erwin plunging over for the touchdown. Harley Balllnter kicked the point to tie the score at 7 to 7.In the second period Wooten plunged over for Lamar’s winning counters to give Coach Russ Wooten's force its 14-7 victory. Wooten plunged for the extra point.The second half was a scoreless punting duel and the victory was Lamar's first in the Big Eight Conference this fall.
