Parents are coming to BCThis weekend will be Benedictine College’s annual Parents Weekend. The weekend gives students’ parents an opportunity to visit the campus, meet with faculty and administration, and enjoy various events.On Friday, Mass will be celebrated in St. Benedict’s Abbey Church at 5:15 p.m. Also on Friday, the Benedictine Theater Arts Department will present a production of “Angel Street,” a Victorian thriller. The performance will begin at 8 p.m. in the Mabee Theater, located on the bottom floor of the Administration Building. Tickets can be reserved by calling the boxoffice at 367-5340, Ext. 2579.On Saturday, Mass will be at 9:15 a.m. in the Mount St. Scholas-tica Chapel and again at 11:30 a.m. in the Abbey Church.The Lady Ravens soccer team will take on Rockhurst at the soccer field at noon. The English department is sponsoring a poetry reading with works presented by student authors at 1 p.m. in the Mabee Theater. Following the soccer game, the men’s team will play St. Mary’s College, starting at 2 p.m. Also at 2 p.m., tours of St. Benedict’s Abbey or Mount St. Scholas-tica will be given.To end Saturday’s schedule of events, the varsity football team will host Missouri Valley at 3 p.m. at Amelia Earhart Stadium. Another performance of Angel Street will be presented at 8 p.m. at Mabee Theater.Sunday’s events begin withMass at 10 a.m. at St. Benedict’s Abbey Church and Mass at the Mount St. Scholastica Chapel at 10:15 a.m.The Benedictine Concert Chorale and Chamber Singers will present a program of sacred music at 2 p.m. in the Abbey Church.
