However, Wilson couldn’t connect on the 20-yard effort.The Chargers opened a 6 -0 lead in the first quarter when Gary Jefferson returned a punt 65 yards to paydirt while Wilson’s extra point attempt failed.LH bounced back to claim the upper hand in the second period on Flores’ 25 -yard scamper and Bradley’s conversionForest Meadow regained the lead in the third quarter as Richard Andro tallied on a two-yard romp and Wilson converted. However, Flores’ three-yard spurt and Bradley’s extra point in the final period lifted the Wildcats to thethe fourth quarter to pull out the victory. Manner-berg tallied on a one-yard plunge and Jefff Robertsonadded the two-point conversion.Gerald Bright scored touchdowns on runs of seven and 18 yardds to fuel Northwood to a 28-0 shutout over RichardsonQuarterback Vic Lan-ey passed 35 yards to lawn Hills and Etoug King romped one yard for the other Cougar touchdowns. Phil Ream and King te amed for one two-point conversion and Langley added the other.SEVENTH GRADEQuarterback Rob Mas-terson directed a 90-yard drive to use the final seven minutes of the clock and preserve Liberty’s 6-0 shocker over North.TTie Patriots, who rolled to their third consecutive win, tallied their winning touchdown in the second quarter when Paul Ayers rambled 25 yards to paydirt.Besides Masterson, Todd Sickler and Steve Hudsonadded key offensive performances while JohnwinKeith Pate, Mike Ster-net, Todd Kirkpatrick, Stan Carrio and Steve Tacker also played excellent for the Wildcats.Klemm and Scott Poissoit shined defensively. Mitch Kirwin played well for North.West captured its second victory of the season with an 8-0 shuttout over Westwood as Barney Frazier scored on a 30-yard gallop aand added the conversion after a Robin Phillips’ intercepttion.Other offensive standNORTH OPENED a 27-6 halftime advantage and coasted to a 27-12 decision over Liberty behind the two touchdown performance of Mike Amyx. Amyx tallied the first two Viiing scores on runs of two and 13 yards while Barry Gilliam and Kirk Zeithammel added touchdowns on romps of one and three yards, respectively.Zeithammel also booted three extra points and added a strong ddefensive ame as did David Kingsbury. The Patriots tallied on Craig Stepheason’s 80 -yard kickoff return and Jeff Liles’ three-yard scamper. Denton Acrea also played well for the Patriots.Mike Mannerbergrushed for 109 yards and scored two touchdowns as Westwood dumped West 14 -7.
