Wildcali[Monett, Nevada Tie Up LeagueBy BUDDY DAVISSpecial Sports WriterOn the wet, muddy football fled of the Lamar Tigers, the Neosho grid squad dropped a 7-6 heartbreaker to the Lamar boys last night.Only two other Big Eight conference games were played last night — Monett took a 32 to 14 win over Mount Vernon, and Nevada drubbed Aurora 21 to 6.Conference top spot is now between Monett and Nevada, but that will last only until this Friday when these two teams meet —if they don’t tie up.Webb City was idle last night, and Carthage was at Joplin for a 31-12 loss. Xt was something of a moral victory for Carthage despite the beating—it w'as the first time since 41 that the Tigers have scored against Joplin.Webb City’s B team played Alba last night and took a 0-26 whipping from the small school. IThe Wildcats outplayed the i Tigers ail the*way — in total; yardage gained, pass offense and defense and had an equal number of first downs as Lamar.
