Pigskin Chasers “Mussed U|f-Cedric Gran is receiving both congratulations and sympathy from his .friends since the Wiley-Henderson football game last Saturday. Congratulations for the manner in which he tackled his opponents, and sympathy for the injury he received while' playing. The stiff neck which Cedric has been seen with all week is due to a twisted vertebrae.During the third quarter of the game, three accidents occurred. Cedric Gran was rushed to a hospital in Henderson immediately following his mishap.' He was unconscious, and it was thought he had concussion of the brain. Word was received early in the evening by Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Gran that their son was in a very serious condition. He was brought home about 3 o’clock in the morning, and after a close examination it was discovered that the vertebrae, which the officials in the Henderson hospital thought broken, was merely twisted. He is now able to be out, though still suffering from the accident.Richard Shoptaugh, another Wiley player, tore a ligament in his neck, and Dean McAninch received a minor injury during the scrimmage. None of the accidents is considered serious and the boys will soon be in trim shape for another “battle.”
