★5: Bobcats Nearing ; 2,000 Yards MarkIndividual records slipped some this week for the Cam-1 ' bridge Bobcats, but as a whole the team is moving close to set-v ting a few marks that will be hard to break next season. For example the Bobcats have amassed 1,842 total yards six games, just short, of 2,000 yards by 148 yards. n The team has scored 107 points, 15 touchdowns and seven r j of these in the air while picking up 678 air yards in six games, n all but 31 yards of this belonging to one quarterback. And for the first time in a spell, the Bobcats have six persons in the scoring column individually. It figures that some of these marks will change come Friday at Claymont High School when the Bobcats play game number seven, the most likely to be the 2,000 total yards ligure and there’s a chance, a slim one depending on game conditions, that an individual mark may be set.Leonard Crawford is sitting at an even 800 yards in 97 carries and a 8.3 yards per carry average. Should the Bobcat speedster have a good night with the ball, he could become the first 1,000 yard man in seven games in school history.Crawford is also still holding the scoring leadership, but has not crossed the goal line in the past two games and is getting a bit hungry for a touchdown. His 28 points may be tops on the boards, but the senior back indicates more points would be “mighty nice’’ and he hopes to earn them in the next four games.Tom Hollins continued his upward climb this week in yardage totals. The big halfback has 393 yards in three and half games on 53 carries for a 7.4 yard average. He is still 10 points off Crawford in scoring, but he too is looking towards someone’s goal line soon.Dennis Hazlewood moved up in yardage average figures, boosting his mark with eight pass catches for 112 yards and 14.0 yards per carry as an average. The mark is the best on the squad. Ken Cowgill passed him in yardage, having caught 12 passes for 118 yards and a 9.8 yards average.Bob Salmans joined the scoring department with the lone tally against Wintersville and at the same time moved up a step or so with seven pass catches and 62 yards for an 8.8 average.Rick Lilienthal dropped yardage wise, running the ball 36 times in six games for 138 yards, but he raised bis passing record to a .515 average and seven touchdown throws on 52 completions in 101 attempts.Steve Eyen joined Lilienthal in the quarterbacking records with four completions in 13 pass attempts for 31 yards and the two between them have 57 completions, 114 attempts, seven interceptions and a neat .500 average for 678 yards.Player ........ScoringTDs PAT (Kick) PAT (Run) FG TotalsCrawford4 020 28Lilienthal4 000 24NicholsonI 1001 19- Hollins3 000 18Hazelwood2 000 12Salmans1 000 6Team Totals15 1023 107PlayerYardageCarriesYardageAverageCrawford978008.3Hollins533937.4Lilienthal361383.9• Hazlewood811214.0: Cowgill121189.8:!
