The Sioux Falls game was without a doubt our most productive effort of the season., ;3jhe/• defense held the Braves to. minus: yards rushing - the result: ofnuiuerous’;! ^quarterback sacks” forsignificant: losses, and the offense rolled up 555 yards wj^ich represents a new one game total offense record..; The • • passing yardage: of 296 also represents a one game record as does the minus 43 ryarlt;ls rushing to which thedefense held the Braves.* ■ ^ • .• ' * • . . , . • - • • • m ' •Our staff was particularly, .encouraged to see the “old pro”, Carl Durr return to his top niniiihg form. Carl missed last season with a knee injury and is now coining back to his full potential.This- week’s game presents a number of . interesting challenges. The NorthwesternRed Raiders are an excellent football team1 • • ] • ■and have probably the largest overall size of any team in the Conference. -They have numerous pro-sized linemen ranging in height from 6’2” to 67” in weight from 230-270lbs.. Dave Meylink their fine flankerback (conference 440 yard champ) was the national NA1A punt return champion a year ago. He will be pitting his talents against our fine punt coverage team headed by the “toe Magoo” (Steve Maguire).“Steve has punted 40 times this season ; for a slightly over 37 . yard average and these 40 punts have been returned for a sum total of only 5 yards. _All of this is topped off by the fact that in the twelve year history of football' between the schools the Raiders have yet to win. This is tremendously challenging to both teams.\.Come Saturday the Raiders will be here — The Eagles will be here, and we’ll have a heck of a ball game.
