Reed and Bonthron Are Elected Captains of Freshman HarriersFor the first time in the history of Princeton cross-country teams, two men were elected to the captaincy of the Freshman harriers, W. R. Bonthron and J. C. Reed being unanimously elected yesterday to lead the 1934 runners this season.The two captains-elect have been starring this fall as members of the yearling team, finishing hand in hand far ahead of the field to tie for first place in last Friday’s meet with the Rutger’s cubs. The Princeton Freshmen won this race with a perfect score, capturing the eight first places.Bonthron prepared for Princeton at Exeter where as a member of the track team he starred in the mile run, while Reed, a graduate of Mercersburg, won the Princeton Interscholastic mile last year.
