Porter’s once-beaten team from the District of Columbia completely throttled the Yellow Jackets’ offense. limiting West Virginia State to three first downs.To add insult to injury, Howard kept its goal line uncrossed this season by rushing when the Bisons recovered a fumble inside the one.West Virginia State used a tricky reverse on a kickoff return following Howard’s fifth touchdown to streak into scoring position. The Jacket’s dangerous return artist, Jeff Good, received the kickoff and surrendered the ball to Warren Anderson, who followed a wall of Mockers for a 67-yard finback, to Howard’s 21.Wayne Holland. Good, Bob Christian, Jim Charley and Cnrt Calloway ground out a pair of first downs to Howard’s one.
