Volleyball Coach Gail Lehrmann was appointed to take over the position.Claussen, who compiled a 98-57 record over eight years as UNO’s only softball coach, said she made the decision in hopes of allowing her to devote more time to her duties as coordinator of women’s athletics.Claussen guided the Mavericks to a national championship in the Women’s College World Series in 1975. She was instrumental in the promotional efforts which enabled the WCWS to remain in Omaha for nine vears.c:
