‘AM’ RASCHER IS ADDED TO NEXT RASSLING SHOWAmbrose (Am) Rascher, the Cedar Lake giant who has spent the last two years promoting his own rassling shows at Lassen’s pavilion on the lake, has been added to the Civic Center’s program for next Monday night, it was announced late yesterday by Director A, B. Scott.Rascher will make his Hammond debut against Jim Coffield, the speedy and aggressive Kansas champion who showed here recently.Announcement that Rascher would appear tickled many Indiana U. alumnus. Rascher is one of the most popular athletes in the history of the Bloomington institution, having played right tackle on the 1933 and 1934 Hoosier grid machines in addition to winning the Big Ten heavyweight mat title in his senior year.Rascher has rassled professionally since his graduation and is known throughout the land as an aggressive, strong and colorful fellow who works hard every minute.“He’s been the despair of all opponents for four years,” Director Scott commented yesterday. Rascher keeps moving all the time and there's no chance for a weary opponent to catch his second wind.”Rascher and Coffield will meet in the semi-windup match of one hour or less. Director Scott is looking for a spectacular main event opponent for Don Juan Humberto, new favorite of local rassle-bugs.It was also reported that Lloyd Fleming, the bus driver's favorite, was a preliminary possibility.
