Led by John Tavener, hard driving fullback, who scored all of their touchdowns, the Aces held the Johnstowners in check, the losers never getting past Granville’s 30.The Aces stepped right out to an early lead in the first canto when Tavener broke loose around right end for 65 yards and a touchdown. An attempted line plunge for the conversion failed.to ^Granville scored twice in the secondperiod, the first one coming after an80 yard drive with Tavener plunging over from the twd. Later in the quarter Tavener ripped through the Johnnies line and dashed 40 yards for another touchdown. Both of Tavener’s attempted place-kicks for the conversion failed.The winners’ final score came in the third period after a 70-yard drive with Tavener cracking over from the 12.
