VICTORY, how sweet it is!!!And the way the Miners acted Friday night after defeating Dugger-Union, victory is something which won't be forgotten.• yLinton coach Dan Galbraith said a victory was just what the Miners needed to get things going Rockville and South POt-nam can be beaten by the Miners, if Linton plays the same way as Friday night. The Miner offensive line created expressways for fullback David Bowman, tailback Brad Wagner and wingback David Yount Just think they are all sophomores, and just learning this game of football. It was a night to get all the frustrations out for end Mark Gennicks and linebacker Tim Stockrahm. Gennicks has been watched very closely by all seven of the first Linton opponents but Friday night the junior broke free for two catches of 79 yards. Wrhile on the other end Ken Gabbard was shackled by two Union Bulldogs. Tim Stockrahm got back into the line up for the first time since the North Knox game and recovered a fumble along with stopping up a hole or two.The play on the one yard line was the big one to Coach Galbraith. It showed that the players had learned to play their toughest all the time, according to Galbraith Coach Galbratih said his team wasn’t keying on Union s David Jobe but the speedy back was contained beautifully by the Miner defense. “Jobe said some things to some of our players before the game,” said Galbraith, “and they were looking for him.”“He’s a nice back,” Galbraith said of Jobe “He’s faster than I thought he was.”This nice back which Galbraith watched his Miners contain is being scouted for some small colleges in Indiana. One of these colleges is Evansville University where Sam Wainman, Linton played for four years.Galbraith has a lot of respect for Rockville. “They may be 3-5, but they have played some tough teams,” Galbraith said. “But we've played some tough teams too, North Knox is just as tough as anybody they’ve played, it will be a good game.”This will also be parents' night with the parents of the football players being introduced.
