Moulton was defeated by the score of 26 to 7. Corydon shows promise of a good team, and Moulton was greatly improved over past games. The results of the game shows Corydon gaining 266 yards by rushing and Moulton very close behind with 260 yards. Moulton matched their opponents very good on rushing, but they were outclassed by Corydon’s passes. Corydon’s net gain on passes was 145 yards, while Moulton’s total was only 8 yards in the same department. Corydon’s passing was excellent and their yardage was well earned.1st Quarter Scoring Both touchdowns in the first quarter were made by Corydon, but no extra point was made. Moulton in a tough spot kicked from their 25 yard line, the Corydon full back received the ball on his own 35 yard line, and returned back down the field over the host’s (that’s us, folk) goal line. The next score by the visiting team was made by numerous advancing through Moulton’s territory. No extra point was made.During the second period of the game no score was made. Most of the time in the quarter was devoted to an exchange of punts. Both teams threatened to score, but a long punt would drive them back. Moulton’s punts in the game averaged 33 yards while Corydon’s had a 27 yard average.Corydon Scores Again The third quarter brings seven more points to Corydon’s score card. Corydon crossed Moulton’s goal line, and fumbled one to let the home team recover the ball behind the goal line. The play was ruled a touchback, therefore, the ball was taken to Moulton’s 20 yard line and put into play there. Moulton punted back into Corydon’s territory, only to have it returned for a touch-dowrt.Moulton ScoresWhen the fourth quarter opened the ball was in possession of Corydon. After several attempted passes, one was completed for another seven points. On the kick-off Moulton received the hall on the 20 yard line, puckered up their faces, and marched play after play down the field and across the goal line. They wouldn’t stop at six points, so they bounced right back and crossed the goal line again for the extra point. Junior Stansberry was the boy to carry the ball over the goal, by a long left end run, they looked like a million bucks. Francis Davis made the line plunge over the goal for the extra point.Moulton kicked off to Corydon, and held them back in their own grounds. They punted back to Moulton, who returned the ball 55 yards to Corydon’s 15 yard line. The gun went off to end the game. Just a second to soon. Moulton was sure to have scored again.
