Vikings invade BozemanBy ANDREW HINKELMANThe Daily Inter LakePerhaps the most pleasantly surprising story of the Big Sky season sofar invades Bozeman today — the Portland State Viking.The Vikings (3-2 overall, 1-1 Big Sky), picked to finish last in both the coaches and media preseason polls, are coming off a shutout of Sacramento State on the road, their second donut of the year.Their two losses are to Division I-A Fresno State, a game in which PSU played surprisingly well, and a blowout at the hands of Eastern Washington, a team that is averaging over 40 points in its last four games.“A ballelub that looks pretty impressive on tape,” Montana State coach Mike Kramer said Tuesday of the Vikings. “They’re fashioning a really really nice season, and that’s based on a fine defense.”That defense held the Homets to just 232 yards of offense in a 31-0 drubbingSee CATS on Page B4
